Taxes Aren’t The Only Thing That’s High: Police Say People Smoking Pot, Doing Taxes at Clay H&R Block —Daily Mail (Charleston, W. Va.)

Troopers Knocked on the Door.  Say They Were Greeted by a Stoned Man Named Clarence Stone.

Everyone knows tax season can be an especially stressful time.

Ashley B. Craig reports on some alleged coping mechanisms in the Daily Mail of Charleston, W. Va.  More:

We got a call that there were people down at H&R Block in Clay doing drugs and doing taxes,” said Trooper B.E. Young.

Cpl. R.R. Cervera and Trooper B.K. Smith looked in the windows of the office and saw a man and woman inside, later identified as Clarence Stone Jr., 40, of Lizemores, and Tisha Tanner, according to a complaint filed in Clay Magistrate Court.

Troopers knocked on the door. They say a stoned Stone greeted them. They immediately noticed the “heavy smell of marijuana burning” inside the business, Young said. . . Stone has nine years experience with the company, including two years of office management experience, according to the H&R Block website. Young said Tanner was not charged.

Stone was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, cultivation and simple possession of meth.

He was free on bond.
